The Kurds on Saturday accused the Syrian government of “betraying” an agreement on the withdrawal of Kurdish forces from parts of northern Syria and reported heavy fighting with the Syrian army.

In a statement, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said government troops had “violated the latest agreements and betrayed our forces as they were withdrawing” on two fronts. The SDF reported “intense ongoing clashes” and “bombardment” targeting Raqqa province, which remains under Kurdish control.
