After three weeks of intense negotiations, Nawaf Salam's government was formed on Feb. 8. 2025, and won the confidence of MPs on Feb. 26.
Despite its short lifespan (the legislative elections are due to take place in May 2026), Nawaf Salam's government will have to tackle a series of major issues including economic recovery, political reform, Hezbollah's weapons and the consolidation of the cease-fire with Israel in southern Lebanon.
