U.S. sanctions Frangieh, Qomati: What political messages is Washington delivering?

On Thursday, the U.S. Treasury sanctioned Mahmoud Qomati, the deputy head of Hezbollah's political bureau, as well as Sleiman Frangieh, its closest Christian ally and perennial candidate for the presidency.
