BEIRUT — Residents of Batroun have called on authorities to restore state electricity to the northern Lebanon town, which has been cut for four days, the National News Agency reported.

Here’s what we know:

    • Electricity service from the state-run Electricite du Liban (EDL) utility has been down in the coastal town for four days because of the storm raging in Lebanon, the NNA said.

   • Appeals for action on the matter have not been met with a response, the state-run news agency said, citing a statement issued by Batroun residents.

   • Batroun residents are preparing for a protest Monday in front of the local branch of EDL, the report added.
