Iconic abandoned Piccadilly Theater to undergo renovation

The National Heritage Foundation has signed an agreement to renovate the famous theater, a landmark of Lebanon’s “golden” years. Although the funding has yet to be worked out, caretaker Culture Minister Mohammad Mortada tells L’Orient-Le Jour he is confident that the Piccadilly Theater, which closed down after it caught fire in Aug. 2000, will reopen its doors.
